Affording writers the opportunity to be mentored, advised by pros in the field could not be better. Providing a home for such engagement is vital to get diverse stories into the industry so that no child has to search for quality literature that features them, written by someone that looks like them. I love what you are doing. Lots of work has gone on. It truly shows. Supremely proud.

I am so thrilled to see the launch of KidLitNation! We Need Diverse Books was an excellent start to bringing about greater awareness of different identities (cultural, gender) to a mostly homogeneous country, and KidLitNation will continue to help advance that push for teaching acceptance and tolerance for differences.

As an educator and a writer of children’s picture books, I am always reading picture books that depict all children. By sharing and reading multicultural literature with my students, they learn to accept and celebrate differences. Respecting each other’s differences is doing what is right. A well written book can share this important message. Thank you for all that you do to celebrate diverse stories.
